PATRICK DEMPSEY ON SUNRISE

Journalist: You’ve been referring to him as “McDreamy” all morning of course from Grey’s Anatomy. He’s also People‘s Sexiest Man Alive and right now Patrick Dempsey is in Australia, Sydney in fact and we caught up with him.

Patrick: I love being in Australia, yeah. It’s really great being back here. I haven’t been back here since 2015, it was with Bridget Jones when we were doing the premiere here. And I got here Tuesday morning.

Journalist: He’s an actor, husband, father, and, believe it or not, an accomplished race car driver too. Patrick Dempsey is also a watch ambassador and that’s what brought him to Sydney for a whirlwind visit rubbing shoulders with local celebs like Troy Sivan and G-flip.

Patrick: I’ve been with TAG Heuer 10 years now and certainly my partnership with Porsche. And then we’re opening up the new boutique over here on Pitt and Market so it was nice to see that and just the atmosphere has been wonderful.

Journalist: For years he was “McDreamy” on Grey’s Anatomy. That nickname still sticks: at 58, he’s People Magazine‘s Sexiest Man Alive.

Patrick: That’s pretty tough in this country, there’s a lot of good-looking people here so I’m grateful for the attention at my age. I’ll take it. (laughs) I just got to keep going to the gym I guess and stay fit.
