Patrick Dempsey Joins the Cast of “Dexter: Original Sin”

Last Wednesday (19/06), it was announced that Patrick Dempsey is joining the cast of Dexter: Original Sin as a series regular.

According to Variety, Patrick is set to portray Aaron Spencer, the Captain of the Miami Metro Homicide who has a decades-long relationship with Christian Slater’s Harry Morgan.
Set in 1991, 15 years before the events of Dexter, the series follows Dexter as he “transitions from student to avenging serial killer,” per the official logline. “When his bloodthirsty urges can’t be ignored any longer, Dexter must learn to channel his inner darkness. With the guidance of his father, Harry (Slater), he adopts a Code designed to help him find and kill people who deserve to be eliminated from society without getting on law enforcements’ radar. This is a particular challenge for young Dexter as he begins a forensics internship at the Miami Metro Police Department.”

Production and filming started in Miami earlier this month from June 5th to June 15th. Filming is now taking place in Los Angeles. Various sources indicate that filming could end either in November or in January 2025 (note: dates are subject to change).
